6.8 Pocket Rules
Sometimes accuracy was not the most important player of the moment, but rather accessibility to the slide rule itself. The list below includes all slide rules in the collection with overall longest dimension less than or equal to 6 inches, assuming that such a device could be placed into a shirt or coat pocket. Both the single-decade length (L0) and the overall largest dimension (Lx) of the slide rule are provided in the table. Approximately 21% of the slide rules in the collection are pocket rules.
